Interesting news from the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, where anyone can nominate a PTAB decision to be considered for making it precedential and/or informative. According to the USPTO announcement, this is being offered based on stakeholder feedback. All that you need to nominate a decision is the case number, case name, and brief reasons for the nomination. You can even do it annonymously.

There are so many people out there reading PTAB decisions in their spare time so the PTO will probably be inundated with requests. Seriously, though, it will be interesting if the USPTO allows the public to see which cases were nominated yet not accepted.

We may make a few submissions and will update our blog with that info so that if others agree, multiple submissions can be made for a particular case to shows support for the nomination. Likewise, if others make nominations, please let us know.
